Research Services
Each year, families from around the world make use of the Old Swedes Foundation’s records, including baptism, marriage, and burial for the men and women whose lives were defined by their involvement with Old Swedes Church and the founding of a city, state, and nation over the past 400 years. Descendents of Swedish, Dutch, and English colonists travel across the United States, and around the world to visit the historic site and to investigate the part Old Swedes Church has played in their families’ stories.
Family History & Genealogy Information
To help researchers who cannot come to the Library, a genealogical research service is available. This service is intended to provide the researcher with basic information found in the records of Old Swedes Church about a specific individual. We will not attempt to construct a line of descent. Please include any information that you have that may be helpful to us in identifying the person you are seeking.
Old Swedes Foundation does not have the resources to conduct more than a limited amount of research. For a fee, a preliminary research service is available for those who are unable to visit our library in person. Our research service cannot, in general, exceed 1 hour of investigation. Successful results cannot be guaranteed.
